It was important to
Joyfulhope.org to have examples of people that
have well-being when perhaps they had a reason
not to be happy.
When
you look at their photo you see two very happy
people. Jordan perhaps has a reason to be
unhappy but this young lady understands that her
happiness is a matter of choosing to forsake
negative thoughts and insecurities and replace
them with positive, warm and productive thoughts
or what we call well-being. Jordan was born
pre-mature and spent the first 9
months of her life, with her twin brother Josh, in
the prenatal unit of the hospital battling for
her life. Through the love and prayers of her
parents, Todd and Heather, she survived but now
has the physical and social challenges of cerebral palsy.
You would never know she has this affliction
because this young lady is very articulate,
sweet and kind. She
also motors around pretty well with her purple
canes! Heather calls her twins her "miracles"
and thanks God for this gift in her life.
Heather is one of the world's top female
professional triathletes and winner of five
Ironman®*
competitions. This lovely and energetic lady
owns
IronEdge Coaching, one of the best
multi-sport coaching firms in the United States.
She is also an accomplished inspirational speaker
with her messages coming from her heart. When
you meet Heather you recognize that she is a
humble Christian, a joyful person with a forever
smile, wife to a wonderful husband and mom to
three children.

Heather understands
the importance of well-being in her racing by
choosing to disregard negative thoughts and
replacing them with glowing positive thoughts.
She talks of the pain during the marathon
portion of an Ironman®
Triathlon and how she chooses to focus her
attention on more important subjects like her
family. Jordan writes her notes to tell Heather
to keep pushing on and to not give up, just like
she does. While racing Heather calls Jordan her
"secret weapon". She derives much of her resolve
and tenacity by emulating Jordan's steadfastness in
overcoming the physical and social challenges created by
cerebral palsy.
Heather is also one
of JoyfulHope.org's motivational speakers.
